Hello NAKED People!
This year my hash tag is #MostMemorableYear and I have been traveling throughout North America to make this the year I won’t forget. I have been to some pretty awesome beaches and wanted to share the NAKED truth on some of the best beaches. It’s only May 1st and I have already visited each of these beaches, i have to pinch myself to make sure this is “real life!”
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is a beautiful city that is a perfect mix of tourist destination and authentic Mexican city. The coast line is packed with breath taking beaches to explore. The two you most visit are Los Muertos Beach in the heart of the city and Playa Mismaloya just south of Puerto Vallarta.
Mismaloya, a small fishing village, was made famous in 1963 when the film Night of the Iguana was filmed there. From Playa Mismaloya you get breath taking views of the Los Arcos seas rocks. You can take a public bus from Puerto Vallarta Centro to Mismaloya (about 30 minutes), get off at the Zoologico de Vallarta stop and take the dirt road across from the zoo down to the beach. TIP: At the beach you can pay a local fisherman to take you on a boat ride to get up close to the Los Arcos sea rocks or you can walk along the trail to where the Iguana movie was filmed.
Los Muertos Beach, in the heart of Vallarta, is a perfect place to get a taste of the flair and culture of the city. There are many restaurants on or near the beach to grab a taco or some other local treat to enjoy, while sipping on a margarita and working on your tan. Many afternoons you can hear the sounds of a local mariachi band playing in the distance.
Playa Del Carmen, Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula’s east coast has a spectacular coast line with the Caribbean Sea. Just south of Cancun, this beach town has some of the clearest blue water in the Caribbean and baby soft sand. You can enjoy the beach by day and some of the best nightlife in Mexico by night. Superstar DJ David Guetta calls Playa Del Carmen home, so you never know when he might pop in to the local club to say hi or spin some beats.
Ocean Beach, San Francisco, CA is a perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The best way to get there is by taking the N Judah muni line outbound to the very end. If taking the muni from the downtown area near Civic Center, plan on a 45 to 50 minutes train ride, the ride is worth it. From the rolling sand dunes to the views of seagulls flying over head, Ocean Beach is just what the relaxation doctor ordered. The water is a bit chilly, so this beach is more a place to relax and catch some sun than to take a full on dip in.
Playa Progreso just a short 30 minute drive from Merida, Mexico is on the tip on the Yucatan Peninsula. The warm water of the Gulf of Mexico invites you to jump in and take a swim. You may have to because the summer high temperatures reach the 100’s and with high humidity, you will need to relief of the water. Make sure to take a banana boat ride here, they are so much fun and will leave you laughing and smiling for hours. TIP: This beach is popular with families, so if you don’t like children you may not want this beach.
Myrtle Beach, SC is one of those beaches you have to go to once in your life. It had its “hay day” in the 80s as a family summer trip destination, but its still very popular with American families. The souvenir shops are still packed full of 80s neon shirts, hats and trinkets. Pick some up, they are sure to be collectors items. hehe. There are two beaches and two cities: Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. While Myrtle Beach has the boardwalk and the amusement rides, North Myrtle is less attractions and more about the beach. So if you want the party life pick Myrtle and if you want a more beach only scene pick North Myrtle.
Its definitely the #MostMemorableYear and thats the NAKED truth!
Till next time… Live Life NAKED!
My 2014 resolution is to make this the most memorable year ever. Now that the first 3 months of the year are over, its time to look back at the first quarter of 2014 and see how my resolution is going.
Check out my cool travel flipagram for the year to date: http://flipagram.com/f/BoU5sSPmG2
I have to say it is going amazingly. So far I have traveled to Mammoth Lakes, Portland, Puerto Vallarta (twice), Guadalajara, San Diego and San Francisco. Being able to see so many places in s short amount of time is incredible. Along the way I have caught up with old friends and made new friends. I’ve been introduced to new foods and new cultures. This is truly living.
Its April and I am ready to see what the next 9 months have in store.
How is your New Years resolution going? Is 2014 your most memorable year? Let me know and until next time… Live, Life, NAKED!
A few weeks ago I traveled up to Portland, Oregon to check out the sights, sounds, food and parks. What a beautiful city, but i will say one thing… BRRRRR! hehe. I have to go back in the Summer to enjoy the city more, so many outdoor activities to check out, that the winter doesn’t allow you to.
I absolutely loved the Japanese Garden, it should be on everyone’s “Portland To Do List.”
Food Tips: Everyone raves about VooDoo donuts, and yes they are delicious and of course I had like 4. There are two other gems I came across that are must do’s: Eat Diner with its quirky and tasty donut hamburger sliders and yummy Canadian influenced Poutine (cheese, gravy and fries). Roxy Diner, open 24 hours is a great spot for a late night breakfast after the clubs. So tasty you will ask for a doggy bag to savor the left overs when you wake up.
I had a blast when I met Bolivia Carmichaels at CC Slaughters nightclub. You better follow her on twitter @QueenBolivia and hit her up when you get to Portland. She co-hosts a radio show on Wild Planet Radio and I was a guest on yesterday’s show. Take a listen listen, my interview starts at 17 minutes in. Enjoy the naked truth:
There you have it folks, some fun tips to Portland… Till next time, Live Life NAKED!
A lot of us grew up with her on TV’s Full House. Kimmy Gibbler (actress Andrea Barber) was the Tanner’s neighbor and DJ’s best friend. I got to meet the fun and lovable Andrea at the 2013 Rock n Roll Marathon in Las Vegas. We talk about her putting away the neon tights, her love for New Kids on the block and some how I got her to TWERK for the very first time. Love it!
You can watch the full interview including our show girl kick dance here:

I had the awesome opportunity to cover the red carpet at the Rock n Roll Marathon in Vegas on November 17, 2013 for CNN iReport.
Alison Sweeney from Biggest Loser and Days of our Lives stopped by to tell me her naked truth and how she became Super Mom in Runyon Canyon in LA.
Till next time… Live Life NAKED.

Photos of Mel B and J.Son:
Got to meet Sir Elton John last night in Las Vegas. He was a pretty cool guy, even taking time to pose for a pic and do my signature OMG pose.
He shared photos of his kids and their God-mother, Lady Gaga. His face lights up as he talks about his family. It was nice to see that side of him.
Watch this video of me and my friends on stage during the song “Saturday Nights Alright”

I have remained silent over the recent russian vodka boycott while I took some time to wrap my head around it all. The new anti-gay and anti-human rights laws passed in Russia are down right appalling. Will boycotts of Stoli really help make a difference? And is singling out a brand that has been supporting LGBT events and causes for some time really the best way to go? I am still not sure of the answers to these questions. I do know this, something has to be done. The new laws in Russia make it illegal to even say the word GAY or hold a rainbow flag. What if a child is reading a book with a photo of a rainbow? Will that child be attacked for having a “gay” symbol? They actually could! and that is frightening.
Stoli released an open letter in which they try to distance themselves from Russia and stand behind their LGBT marketing campaigns. However, when the owner of the company is named as one of the richest men in Russia, how dumb do they take us for believing they aren’t Russian owned? I would have more positive feelings if they said, “we are Russian owned and we urge Putin to re-think the laws.” That is how you step up and truly show your colors on where you stand on the issue. By simply saying that though, any employee of Stoli working in Russia, could be arrested for spreading gay propaganda. Jail time can be a deterrent for stepping up and maybe that is the case here. Sometimes a high-profile arrest gets a movement going in to full gear. If a Stoli executive was to be arrested for standing up for human rights and waving a rainbow flag at the Russian capital that would make a statement.
I am still torn about fully endorsing a vodka boycott and for me a Russian boycott in general is more impactful. We should buy more consciously and look at what we are purchasing. Are the shoes we are buying coming from a place with horrible working conditions? Are we buying meat from a farm that has poor animal treatment practices? Is the country of origin lacking in human rights protections? Clearly Russia currently lacks respect for its citizens and those who are LGBT or LGBT allies. A boycott of all Russian goods sends a bigger and broader statement in my opinion then singling out one brand. A brand, I remind you, that spends money in the LGBT community.
After looking more into this I thought about the upcoming Olympics in Sochi, Russia and a boycott that could have a far wider impact on Russia. What if McDonalds and Coca-Cola were boycotted? Two of the largest brands in the World and largest Olympic sponsors. The mission of the boycott would be to get them to pull their agreements with the Olympics. The IOC (International Olympic Committee) would have to take notice then and really stand and do something. Could there be an Olympics without all the funds provided by two of the main sponsors? The IOC’s website says “Revenue generated by commercial partnerships accounts for more than 40% of Olympic revenues and partners provide vital technical services and product support to the whole of the Olympic Family.” Sounds like they need these sponsors to me. If the IOC was faced with sponsors pulling out ahead of the 2014 games in Russia, I would believe they would move fast in getting Russia to re-think the laws. The IOC has ties to every major government in the World and with their help can get a coalition together to pressure the Russian government. Now that is how you make change.
So while a boycott of Russian Vodka may make headlines in the current news hour, what will truly affect change in Russia? It’s all up to each individual to make at their own decision in this matter. Can you just imagine two of the largest brands pulling out of the Olympics? Now that is a statement on protest that I would be happy to see. So who is with me? What dates should we all boycott McDonalds and Coca-Cola? Two weeks with out their products could hurt their bottom line. Leave a comment believe, I am interested to see what ou think of my two cents.
Till next time stay safe, share a smile with a stranger and LIVE LIFE NAKED!
